The Trustworthy Mr. Hale. |
It was in the year 1907 that Frederick Ezekiel Hale began the
manufacture of handsome, clever bookcases, in particular for
the offices of eminent barristers and bureaucrats.
Mr. Hale's original glass-front sectional bookcases continue
to be hand-crafted in exactly the same manner for the home
or business library. They provide distinctive display for
treasured books and collectibles - built to outlast us all
by at least a few generations.
The bookcases are crafted from solid hardwood (no veneer)
and finished in extremely durable nitrocellulose lacquer,
just like the finish used on fine furniture heirlooms.
A Standard Unit fits books up to 10 inches in height; a Tall
Unit fits books up to 12 inches. Sections will interchange, no
tools needed. Raised panels fit into rail and stile joinery
frames, like the quality furniture built a hundred years ago.
A complete set can be furnished at reasonable cost -- a unit
at a time.
The Hale Barrister Bookcase is the past made perfect, an
homage to the genius of an American entrepreneur.
Stackable and Proven Practical.
Each section has an interlocking rail on top extending across the full width, an accommodating groove on the bottom, and a tongue extending upward in the back, all to assure sturdy, perfectly-aligned cases with no tools required for assembly. The versatile Hale system allows you to design a set to your current needs, then modify the configuration as your needs change. For example, you might start with four bookcase sections now, then add one or two adjacent pieces a year from now.
